The Western Nicator is a large skulking bird species belonging to the family Nicatoridae, found in dense shrubbery savannah, rain and riparian forests across Western Africa.
This bird is a monomorphic bird which means that its species exist in only one specific form or type as against some bird species where the male and females come in different shapes and sizes. Although, the male of the Western Nicator species is slightly bigger than the female.
The Western Nicator is mainly insectivorous; but also feeds on small vertebrates, seeds and berries.
