Celebrate World Nature Conservation Day in Abuja
Friday, July 28th, 2017 is a day set aside to mark World Nature Conservation Day, it is believed that activities will be held across the world to raise awareness concerning Nature conservation and the influence Humans have on nature.
Wildlife Africa Initiative – A Conservation, Research, Education, and Wildlife Rescue Initiative, has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Nigeria National Park Service to mark 2017’s World Nature Conservation Day under the theme: Thank You Nature.
The Initiative’s Director for Advocacy, Seyifunmi Adebote stated that the event, under the theme “Thank You Nature” will be an opportunity for lovers of nature across Nigeria to connect with Nature and have a clear understanding of the relevance of nature and natural resources to them and its management. It will also to engage the public in environmental conservation/education issues.
As part of the event, Thank You Nature, nature-related activities such as Bird watching, Tree Planting, Field Trip, Identification/Naming of Animals and Trees around the park, Open mic session, #TakeThePledge amongst others will hold. The event is scheduled to begin by 10.00AM at the National Park Service Headquarters, Airport Road, Abuja on Friday, July 28th, 2017.
